Basic Invite: Christmas in July

As promised, I have decided to start blogging about non- travel related items—especially things that are getting more important the older I get. The other day I received a handwritten thank you card, and it honestly made me so happy.  It got me thinking that maybe it’s time to stop relying on these e-cards all the time and start hand writing some special notes for the people I truly care about.

I actually discovered a website called Basic Invite (linked here), where you can pick a wide variety of cards including holidays, wedding invitations, birthdays, graduations, and so much more! They allow for flexibility when selecting the design. You can either choose a template, or create a design from scratch choosing your own fonts and color themes!  I scrolled through the “design your own” card since I tend to be extremely picky and always have a “vision” (my parents banned me from using that word after our wedding). I was honestly mind blown with the fact that they had over 180 color options and 40 envelope colors—I’m pretty sure I could choose from at least 20 shades of pink (my spirit color)! I noticed they have foil colors in gold, silver, and rose gold, which in my opinion, really adds a sparkle to any card or invite! Also, I love that they have themes every month. For July, the theme is “Christmas in July” which I think is to inspire the folks in the Southern Hemisphere to select Christmas cards! Super thoughtful, right? Here’s a couple of cards that caught my eye:

Even though I started with the idea of looking for a birthday or thank you card, I soon realized this is where I could design my business card. I started to play around with it and again, was very impressed with the amount of options I had. If you like one of their templates, you can still modify it to your heart’s content! You can also add foil to the business cards! This template was one of my favorites!

I think it’s so important to love what you create. I value a company that recognizes that visualizing something that is not tangible can be difficult. Basic Invite will send you a sample of your design so you can really make sure everything is perfect. If you end up creating a design, make sure to use this code, 15FF51, to get 15% off your order! Let’s make an effort in being more personal and thoughtful when sending out cards and why not start with Basic Invite!
